3:28p	Soundclash Inspired by a comment (protected) on Peter Gabriel's cover version of The Book of Love, I found myself pondering the best possible combination of artist and Stephin Merritt song. Obviously Merritt has done this himself with The 6ths, the Fantasy Football league of indie-schmindie, but he will always be limited by the contents of his address book. Without that stricture, one can imagine so much better. Personally, I'm imagining Jo(h)n Bon Jovi doing When You Were My Baby, from the Wayward Bus. You can see it, can't you? By "you", I mean the five or six people reading this who will have the faintest idea what I am talking about. In particular, consider what Bon Jovi would do with the "whoa whoa".
