Mixed feelings department
Whenever I hear a tale of striking back at the forces of
capitalism, the cheer dies in my throat as I realise that the people on the receiving end of the bug-eyed ranting are never the ones at fault. Complaining has always been a problem for me - capitalism dictates that there has to be profit, which means you are never going to get the full value of what you have paid for. Why grouse?
I realise that others, possibly simply because they are better at it than I, have achieved much in terms of apologies, satisfaction and compensation by complaint, and I woudl certainly not wish to denigrate the practice. Having said which, this account has provided me with one of my favourite responses to a tale of consumer woe ever:
