I swear, I swear that I will do my part
1. When "sonomy" is for the first time added to "folk" on the Scrabble board, something will have changed.
2. I am becoming slightly obsessed with the opening tracks on the Fiery Furnaces EP.pot80, this is one of yours, isn't it? Or am I now hopelessly unhip for liking them? I can never keep track...
3. I think the worst thing about last night, after the eerie flashes of white light from the tracks, after the long pause mere yards from walking distance and the journey back, and after twenty minutes of sitting in the train carriages waiting for news because there was nowhere else warm, or at least less cold, after the announcement that this was it, was the injunction "all change". If on a winter's night a traveller sets fire to the guard's compartment for warmth, who can really blame hir? Breaking just this once my resolution never to let the faults of an institution land upon the brow of its functionaries, I asked, with a wave of my hand encompassing the cold, dead furnaces of the station, what exactly he proposed we change into.
